With Chelsea set to take on Brazilian side Flamengo at the Club World Cup, here’s the kick-off time, streaming details and Blues team news as Enzo Maresca prepares to make changes
Chelsea continue their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against iconic Brazilian side Flamengo. The Blues made a winning start at the expanded 32-team tournament, which they qualified for thanks to winning the Champions League four years ago.
Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez scored the goals as Enzo Maresca’s side defeated Los Angeles FC in front of a sparse crowd in Atlanta. Neto opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark before £30million summer signing Liam Delap made his mark as a second-half substitute by setting up Fernandez to seal the points 11 minutes from time.
Maresca was already looking ahead to Friday’s clash with Flamengo in his post-match interview. He said: “We have to recover. We have a game in three days so we will see. We are going to prepare in the best way and for sure try to win.”
Addressing the impact of Delap, he added: “The good thing about Liam is he knows the way we want to play so the process is quite quick. Also, we gave a chance to Dario Essugo [who completed his move to Chelsea from Sporting Lisbon before the tournament], which is another player we have, so it’s good for both of them.”
Here’s the lowdown ahead of the game, including kick-off time, live streaming details and team news…

What is the Flamengo vs Chelsea team news?
Following a long season, including a victorious run in the Europa Conference League, Maresca refreshingly has a fully fit 24-man squad to pick from. Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix were left at home following their loan spells at Arsenal and AC Milan, respectively.
However, changes will be made to the starting XI. The Blues boss said: “No injuries at the moment, but because it’s a tournament and we have a game every three days, we need to rotate players.
“I’m not saying we’re going to rotate 10 or 11 players each game, but we will need to rotate three, four or five players each game for sure. This is because we cannot play every three days with the same players.
“The ones we tried to rotate a little bit in the first game are the ones we have tried to rotate since day one: Romeo [Lavia] and Reece [James]. We also gave some minutes off to Moi [Moises Caicedo], who has played the whole season, by bringing on Dario Essugo. We will try to continue on that.”
