A woman was over the moon when she discovered a hidden treasure inside her new charity shop handbag. Caroline, who shares her shopping experiences on TikTok as @caroline.shops, revealed that she found something “hidden” in one of the pockets, which essentially meant she got the bag for free. “I found money in something from a charity shop again,” an excited Caroline shared.

She explained that she had purchased a “gorgeous” Zara handbag, which she “absolutely loves it”. Even better, she managed to snap it up for a steal at just £4. The chains on the bag also bear a striking resemblance to a YSL handbag upon first look.

Caroline said she was “having a little delve around in the pockets,” when she stumbled upon some unexpected “loot”.

“Before any of you say that the charity shop workers should’ve checked properly […] this particular pocket, you can’t really notice it basically,” she clarified.

As such, Caroline wasn’t “surprised that they missed out on this”.

She went on to detail that she initially found “two elastic bands,” joking that you can never have too many, and a Starbucks gift card wallet.

“And inside the wallet, some money,” Caroline revealed, pulling out a two-euro coin, a five-cent coin, and a two-pound coin.

“But what I’m really excited about is this 50p coin, because it’s not just any 50p coin. It’s one of the ones from Beatrix Potter, and it’s got Benjamin Bunny on the back,” she gushed.

Caroline confessed her fondness for special edition 50p coins, stating it’s “not particularly rare,” but she deemed it a “great find”.

“It basically means I got the bag for free,” she quipped, inviting viewers to share their thoughts on what they would do with the extra cash.

One woman commented: “I found £80 in a bag I got from a charity shop for £10 (along with a lip gloss that went straight in the bin). I couldn’t live with keeping the money, so I took it back to the shop and donated it.

“But with what you found [not as much] I’d probably buy something else or a lucky dip on the lottery”.

“Either go and spend it in the charity shop, or put a lucky dip on the lottery,” another person suggested.

Another wrote: “Fabulous find! You’ll probably spend the money in a charity shop anyway, so it’s a win-win”.

A user shared: “That’s a nice find, Caroline. I have the full collection of Beatrix Potter fifty pence pieces”.

However, some people were less fortunate with their secondhand purchases. “I found a questionable bag of white powder in a coat pocket from Vinted,” a woman joked.

Caroline responded with a string of unimpressed emojis.

Others considered it “lucky” for her to discover money already in the bag, as it “attracts abundance”.
