Going on holiday with your other half is so exciting, but what do you do if you find out your boyfriend is cheating on you just before you jet off? This woman decided to get revenge
There’s never a good time to find out your boyfriend is cheating, but just before flying off on holiday has to be up there with one of the worst ones.
Even if you live together, getting to spend time with your partner that’s not marred by the mundaneness of everyday life truly feels like a treat. So when this woman found out about her boyfriend’s affair, she was understandably mortified.
Rather than keep her mouth shut and going on the holiday anyway to try and work things out, or even call him out on his behaviour, she decided to get “satisfying revenge” on him instead – and people in the comments were praising her efforts to spoil the man’s getaway.
Writing into the Girls Overheard podcast, one woman detailed the revenge her friend got on her ex when she realised that he’d been cheating. The anonymous message explained that “last year, my friend’s boyfriend broke up with her out of the blue.”
She explained that her pal’s boyfriend worked away as he was in the military, but she found the break-up “odd”, and she had “no prior warning he wasn’t happy”, but she “accepted what he wanted and was amicable.”
“Two weeks after they broke up, he said he would pay her money back to her and take his mum”, she said, continuing that her mate “thought nothing of it” as he wasn’t the sort of person who “you’d suspect anything bad from”.
But then the drama really started when “a couple of days after this she gets a letter through the door from the travel company with details of the name change” – to a girl’s name she didn’t recognise, rather than his mum’s name.
It turns out that this mystery woman was someone that he’d met on Tinder when he was working away down south, and she’d trusted him throughout the whole relationship. So, she decided to get some seriously petty revenge on the non-refundable holiday.
She logged in to his account, and cancelled the holiday – and he was fuming. But in the comments, people say that the woman “didn’t go far enough” with what she’d done. Some dubbed it “the most satisfying revenge story”, and someone said: “I would have changed the name on the holiday to my friend’s name and bloody waved to them from the plane.” One fumed that the man was a “rat b***ard.”
