A US-based influencer has gone viral on social media after he revealed he flew from New York to London for a pot of chocolate-covered strawberries – and it was worth the trip

A popular New York-based YouTuber and influencer has left fans stunned after flying from the US to London to try an £8 street food dessert.

Tyshon Lawrence has gained over 19 million followers on TikTok for his comedic lifestyle and travel videos. But recently the 26-year-old made the unexpected trip to sample viral street food he’d spotted online.

He left his fans in shock after he claimed to have taken a 7-hour flight to London just for a pot of chocolate-covered strawberries. In the clip, which has garnered more than 580,000 likes, he can be seen standing in a hotel room with his bags after checking in.

“You’re probably like ‘Tyshon, You did not go all the way to London to try some chocolate-covered strawberries.’ B***h, we just landed,” he said, urging fans not to judge him as he was heading straight out to find them. The YouTuber made a beeline for Borough Market in Southwark to find the vendor named Turnips among their famous street food traders and after one free sample, he decided the treat was worth its £8 price tag.

He added: “That man knew what he was doing when he gave me that free sample. Okay, so it’s £8. It’s £8 for the strawberries. $10 for this? Yeah, it better be good.”

But he had to act quickly as the chocolate was beginning to set, and he was eager to savour it while it was still lusciously melted. Once the pot was nearly ready, he returned to his audience and exclaimed: “The chocolate here is better than America.”

“The chocolate just melts in your mouth,” he continued. “The strawberries were just fresh. It’s getting a nine from me. A nine out of ten. Most definitely.”

TikTok users were left drooling over the sweet treat too as they wanted to try it for themselves. One user said: “That looks so good,” as another commented: “When I get money, there will be signs.” Someone else penned: ” This is the first time I’ve heard someone be excited to eat in the UK.”
