Ndamukong Suh says Tom Brady is the obvious answer to the greatest NFL player of all time, despite Patrick Mahomes being a “generational talent.” The two quarterbacks have played against each other on numerous occasions, with the most recognisable game being Super Bowl LV.

Brady came out on top with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during this championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, throwing three touchdowns to win 31-9 and secure his seventh Lombardi trophy. Sky Sports NFL expert Suh was part of the starting defence for this game and was full of praise for the football icon.

Speaking to Mirror Sport during Sky Sports’ coverage of the NFL London games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the former defensive tackle spoke highly of Mahomes. He said: “I have a ton of respect for Patrick Mahomes, obviously a great generational talent, and I think for years to come [he’ll be great]. I just loved the opportunity to have played against him and wish him the best and much success.”

During Super Bowl LV, Suh recorded 1.5 sacks on the Chiefs quarterback and secured his first and only ring in a 13-year career in the NFL.

Despite playing with and against some of the best quarterbacks to ever do it – including Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees – the 38-year-old is clear on who he believes is the greatest of all time.

When asked about his time with Brady at the Bucs, Suh said: “Tom came and played for my team, I was in Tampa already. But obviously, he’s the GOAT.

“One of the best people to ever play the game and I was glad to partner up [with him]. Obviously, it turned into an amazing opportunity to win a championship, which we did.”

Brady has made 10 Super Bowl appearances across a 23-year career, winning seven and losing three. In comparison, Mahomes has five starts in the big game, winning three Lombardi trophies and losing two.

The pair have faced off a total of six times, with four match-ups in the regular season and two in the playoffs. Mahomes is 3-1 over Brady throughout the regular campaign, but the ex-New England Patriots QB truly shone in the postseason, winning both games against the Chiefs star.

However, Mahomes is on pace to surpass some of Brady’s records if he keeps performing at the level he is now. However, Suh is still clear that his old quarterback will stand the test of time as the best to ever grace the NFL field.
