Car boot sales can be treasure troves for unwanted second-hand items that could be ideal for you and your needs right now. Whether you’re a first-time buyer and want cheap items because you’re short on cash, or just love looking round at other people’s trinkets, many people are choosing to shop second-hand as it’s cheaper, and if you’re patient, the likelihood is you’ll find things that are well-suited to you.

That’s exactly what Becky did, who posts on TikTok as @beckysbazaar, when she was on “the hunt for more bits” to decorate her home, saying she wishes someone would’ve told her “how expensive furnishing a house actually is”.

She said it’s been four months since she and her partner bought their “first cottage,” and they’ve “hardly made a dent” when it comes to decorating.

Becky explained: “To be fair to us, we are trying to thrift everything and buy all the furniture second-hand, so it’s definitely gonna be a slower process.

“There’s no way you’ll catch me spending hundreds of pounds on little decor items or trinkets.

“That’s why I’m so so glad we found this stall at the car boot sale.”

She shared the woman who was selling things on the stall had a cottage and was moving out, so “she was basically selling all of her decor bits”.

Becky said the timing was “perfect,” and she ended up “making quite a big pile” of things she wanted to purchase.

“And she only charged me £25 for it all,” Becky gushed, in awe of all the bargains she’d been able to buy.

She explained this was around £1 per item, which is much cheaper than you can buy most things in regular stalls.

Becky bagged some cute, kistch looking storage boxes, saying she had “no idea” what she was going to do with them in the long run, but joked “you can never have too much storage”.

She also said she got some cushions which “matched” their bedroom “perfectly”. Becky shared she’d given them a good wash before putting them onto her bed, and said there was another that was still being washed that would add to the charm.

Becky also claimed she put the rest of the stuff “in the kitchen,” showing off her dining room table, which looked lovely with the plank of wood and little trinkets on.

“I really like how this shelving unit looks with all the little decor bits I got,” she gushed, admitting she may move things around as they go, but for now, she liked it.

“We’ve still got so much more decorating to do,” Becky admitted, but she and her partner are determined to get it done.

In the comments, someone wrote: “I love your style. Everything looks so good.”

Another complimented: “Loving how it’s coming together! Thrifted pieces always add such unique charm to a home. Can’t wait to see the finished look!”
