The Duchess of Sussex has shared some of her favourite beauty products, including this viral lip balm – and it’s one our beauty editor always repurchases too. Here’s why…

With Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show and podcast making headlines, there’s an increased interest in what the Duchess wears, products she uses and things she loves. Fortunately she’s shared many of these with her followers, with plenty of them accessible and affordable here in the UK – including this £26 Boots moisturiser.

Previously included on Meghan’s shopping site of favourites was Summer Fridays’ bestselling Lip Butter Balm in the shade Iced Coffee, also loved by celebs such as Kim Kardashian and, closer to home, Coleen Rooney. As someone with perpetually dry lips and approximately a dozen lip balms on the go at any one time, I was keen to see what makes this one such a viral hit – and, after trying it, I can totally understand the hype…

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm costs £23 and comes in a range of flavours and colours. While there are certainly cheaper lip balms on the market, in my experience Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm costs £23; I’ve had mine for months and it’s still going strong. I personally prefer the untinted variations such as Vanilla or Birthday Cake, but Meghan’s favourite Iced Coffee flavour is a flattering sheer brown. Even better, each balm has a scent that matched its shade, and they’re all completely delicious.

The formula of these Lip Butter Balms is also so lovely. Made with shea and murumuru seed butters, and vegan waxes, they’re super nourishing but not sticky or gloopy, and leave a pretty shine on the lips and a hydrated feel that lasts for hours.

A nourishing yet non-sticky lip balm available in a range of delicious flavours.

The aesthetic appeal of these little pastel-coloured tubes is also undeniable. You just feel a bit cool pulling this out of your handbag, and it looks far more chic that whipping out a tin of Vaseline or an old chapstick.

I own, and am sent to test, plenty of lip balms, but this Summer Fridays tube is one that I have – and will continue to – repurchase as a treat for myself. I can totally see why Meghan, and so many others, love it.

For a cheaper alternative, try Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment, which is currently reduced from £17 to £12.75.

There was also another lip balm in Meghan’s list of beauty must-haves, and it’s another one I love too: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, currently £15.75. Meghan had highlighted the strawberry one but, again, there are lots of flavours to choose from. Although, despite the name, this can be used at any time in the day, I keep my pot of Laneige lip balm by my bed, while the Summer Fridays one comes around with me in my handbag.

Other products you’ll also find in Meghan’s beauty routine include Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, from £24, RMS Beauty Luminizer, £39, and cult classic Weleda Skin Food, now £9.47 down from £12.07.
