If you’re looking for the ultimate leggings, this popular pair from Spanx is loved by The Traitors star Claudia Winkleman
If there’s one thing that Claudia Winkleman is famous for, it’s her incredible style. The British TV icon certainly makes looking chic whilst keeping comfortable easy – and one of the pieces she wears on The Traitors happens to be a day-to-night wardrobe essential.
As a 43-year-old, I now find myself searching for ‘timeless pieces’ to add to my wardrobe. The current trend at Shein or ASOS doesn’t cut it for me. What I really want is a blend of quality and comfort, even if that means spending more.
I can’t get enough of Claudia Winkleman’s outfit choices on the latest series of The Traitors – and even though I didn’t watched the show, I certainly kept an eye on what she wore. Her style has a sort of Highland Goth vibe – and I’m impressed.

Thankfully, my wardrobe already includes a cape, Dr Marten boots and several tartan items – such as scarves and skirts. Despite the Brora knits being way out of my budget, I felt I had my Claudia style book in check.
But one crucial item was missing. The leggings Claudia pairs with her knitwear and blazer in the show: the Spanx Look at Me Now leggings (£58).
Just a quick search on Google will bring up heaps of blogs and articles praising these leggings as the only ones you will need in your wardrobe for the rest of your life.

I can offer some expertise in this area having been on somewhat of a journey myself to find the perfect leggings. I found the widely praised Boden ones soft but too thin, and even gave some TU Sainsbury’s options a go after seeing a recommendation on Mumsnet (stiff, thin and awful).
Despite the steep £58 price tag, I decided to try out Claudia’s magic Spanx leggings. I’ve already got a pair of the famous big pants loved by many, so the brand is a trusted name in my house.
The leggings boast plenty of great reviews as well, some have hailed them as a ‘godsend’, ‘magic’ and fitting ‘like a glove’. But people have complained about the sizing – a sentiment I agree with, having pondered for a while over whether to go for a small or medium.
Amazon suggested a small for me, and as someone who usually opts for a size 10 and often a small in most stores, that’s what I chose. The leggings looked quite small upon arrival but I was proven wrong after trying them on.
What made these leggings different to other pairs I had tried previously was its thick jersey material, which features a criss-cross weave of threads you can see if you look closely.
There’s a cuff on the bottom of the legs to keep them in place, and the waistband is thick and strong – perfect for keeping you sucked in. Not only are they extremely comfy and don’t ride up or down, but the main reason I adore these leggings is because they are entirely squat proof. All that’s missing from my wardrobe is one of those pricey Brora knits and I will be fully ready to channel Claudia.
