Fashion Editor Lauren Goodwin-Grafton has found a new favourite co-ord from M&S and finds herself reaching for it daily. Here’s why the set is a must have…
There’s no escaping the fact that co-ords have been trending over the past few seasons and I, for one, am a huge fan of them -I’ve written about my admiration for them in the past. If you want minimal styling effort but to gain serious style points they’re already a put-together look so I call them the lazy girls’ way of nailing summer style – perfect, if like me, you’re always in a rush or running late. Plus, you can wear the separates with other staples in your wardrobe too, ensuring you’re getting your money’s worth.
These are just a few of the reasons I find myself reaching for a matching set, who doesn’t want to take the stress out of getting dressed each day? With this said, I just had to show you my new favourite co-ord courtesy of M&S (of course). The retailer has nailed it this season with their chic summer tailoring offerings, and I’m all obsessed with it.
The Lyocell Rich Longline Waistcoat, £49.50 here and the matching trousers £45 here offer designer-led style, a flattering silhouette on curves and unbeatable quality.

Pros
Cons
- I wish there were more colours available, black, khaki please M&S
- The longline waistcoat has the potential to swamp petite frames
The good news about the Lyocell waistcoat is that it’s still available in all sizes here, While a few pairs of the trousers have sold out you might be able to pick up in-store. Otherwise shop them here in leg lengths from short, regular and long. Shoppers also seem as delighted with the set as me, with one declaring, ” Beautiful Waistcoat. Fits well, great length. Lovely material. It’s styled and shaped beautifully and looks good with trousers or jeans a very versatile top.”
Those looking to take their co-ord to another level might be pleased to hear there is also a matching blazer available, £69 here.. Available in sizes 6-24 the design boasts an oversized feel for a trending 90s vibe. You could also wear the jacket/waistcoat combo with a pair of wide-leg jeans for an alternative look. I recommend River Island’s Blue mid-rise baggy wide-leg jeans, £45 here
Looking for more styling inspiration? I also adore this satin co-ord from River Island this week,it’s giving me all the ‘quiet luxury’ feels. The brown crinkle shirt, £36 here and matching trousers £32 here look mega expensive, and as you know I love a high street find that could pass as a designer look. Head to Mango for further catwalk-inspired looks, this khaki skirt, £35.99 here and shirt £49.99 here is next on. my shopping list.
