One of her daily recommendations for better gut health involves reducing the intake of a beloved British drink: coffee. Katie advises: “Coffee can be dehydrating, so I always make sure to drink a large glass of water alongside my first coffee of the day. I also find swapping to decaf sometimes helps to avoid negative digestive symptoms throughout the day.”
She encourages people to limit themselves to just one cup of coffee per day, even if it’s decaffeinated. Timing is also crucial; Katie suggests enjoying your single cup after eating to prevent acid reflux.

She also highlighted the post-meal practice of a brief walk, shedding light on its significant health benefits by adding, “Walking after eating helps regulate blood sugar levels and gently stimulates the digestive tract, preventing that sluggish feeling we often get after a big meal.”
Further stressing the point, Katie explained: “And it’s one of the easiest habits to build into your daily routine for both physical and mental wellbeing.” She advocated for this easy addition to one’s schedule as a way to aid digestion and reduce potential bloating or discomfort.
