A train line which offers luxury rooms with historic carriages offers takes travellers to visit some of Europe’s most beautiful destinations

An incredible train line offers people the chance to visit three countries and two popular cities in style – with presidential suites, bars and dining options. The Orient Express provides luxury and convenient travel across Europe.

Passengers who board the train will get to visit France, Switzerland and Italy. The scenic route will show off Paris and the French countryside. Travellers will also get to see the Swiss Alps in all of its glory, the Italian Dolomites and Venice. The whirlwind journey, which totals 454 miles, offers a luxury service and features 1920s-style carriages.

Travellers have praised the architecture and styling of the train, with many labelling it a must-try trip. One woman shared her experience on TripAdvisor and said it was “absolutely perfect”. She wrote: “Ever since reading the Christie novel as a child, I’ve dreamed of travelling on the Orient Express, and Belmond (and my husband) finally made this a reality for our honeymoon this past summer.

“We booked a one-night trip from Paris to Venice in a historic carriage, planning on enjoying the end of the Olympics in Paris and then going on to the Veneto and then Slovenia. Everything went off basically without a hitch.” Another holidaymaker commented: “Is this on your bucket list of life? Then go for it! My husband and I absolutely loved our overnight journey from Venice to Paris. Each meal was beautifully presented – and it was such fun to see all guests dressed up in black tie/evening dress.”

A third traveller wrote: “We took the OE from Venice to Paris and on to London. Utter bliss from start to finish. Everything is taken care of during the trip from transfers, to dining, to information. We were lucky enough to have a Grand Suite and the benefit of having your own bathroom (including shower) was really worth it.”

Last year, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express was ranked as Europe’s most “beautiful” scenic train journey, according to travel company Rustic Pathways. A journey can cost as much as £61,200 for a Grand Suite on the five-night Istanbul to Paris route, according to Luxury Trains.

The show-stopping train also stretches to Istanbul, Prague and Budapest. Shayne Fitz-Coy, CEO of Rustic Pathways, previously highlighted the “sheer popularity of exploring Europe”. He said: “Tourists clearly love visiting the continent’s mountains, lakes and valleys and showing their appreciation through positive online reviews. With train travel providing a great way to explore Europe in a relaxed and slow pace, it is no wonder that these routes are praised so highly.”
