Israel: Ben Gurion Airport hit by Houthi missile attack

Israel is preparing to “take action” after reporting a missile was fired from Yemen towards Jerusalem.

Terrifying footage shows the moment a ballistic missile was fired by Houthi rebels near Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. Black smoke could be seen bellowing across the sky after the missile hit a road near the airport’s perimeter.

Eyewitness footage showed missile fragments landing nearby, forcing the airport to halt all flights. Air raid sirens could be heard following the missile launch. At least one person was injured, according to authorities. They were reportedly standing in the airport car park at the time of the missile blast.

Several attempts were made by the IDF to intercept the missile.

Posting on X, Israel Defence Forces said: “Alerts were activated in several areas of the country, several interception attempts were made against a missile launched from Yemen.

“Reports of a fall have been received in central Israel, details are being investigated.”The IDF added it had “identified that a missile was launched from Yemen towards Israeli territory, and defence systems are working to intercept the threat.”

Israeli National Unity chairman Benny Gantz said the missile launch must be blamed on Tehran.

The former defence minister said on X: “This is not Yemen, this is Iran. It is Iran that is firing ballistic missiles at the State of Israel, and it must bear responsibility.

“The Israeli government must wake up.”
