Drew Binsky, an explorer who has his own YouTube channel and makes travel documentaries, said he’s “learned a lot” in the country and says everyone should visit

An explorer who has visited every country in the world has revealed the one nation with which he has a “love-hate” relationship.

US vlogger Drew Binsky discussed his travels in an interview with YouTuber Mark Manson earlier this month. Mark, who has also travelled to this particular country, seemed to understand why Drew felt this way.

Drew, who has his own YouTube channel and makes travel documentaries about “inspiring people, hidden cultures, and wild adventures”, opened up about the country he deemed the most transformative.

He explained on the The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck Podcast: “I always say like, India’s my favourite and least favourite country in the world. Yeah, love-hate relationship.”

He later revealed: “Yeah, I took my wife there and we had a good time overall but it’s tricky. I do recommend everyone to go to India. You learn so much about yourself, about the world.

Drew continued: “It’s the most populous country in the world. It just passed China like a few months ago. That’s crazy. It’s a third the size of the US with five times the amount of people.”

Mark shared his own experiences with the country, saying it’s “tough” as he wants to take his wife there. However, he also warned her that it’s “not gonna be an enjoyable trip”.

He explained to her that it would be a journey to “learn about yourself and learn about the world”. He also said there would be days when she would be questioning what she was “doing here”.

Drew shared a few of his own experiences in India, including attending a Switchfoot concert in Mumbai, a “dark story” about him being on a bus that crashed and which saw two people die, and getting severe food poisoning three times.

Despite this, he said he’s “learned a lot” and continued to travel to the country, visiting it “six more times since then”. He said he’s planning to return again this year.

Mark highlighted India’s “extremity” and said you can have “one of the most beautiful experiences” of your life on one street corner, only to have the “most horrifying and disgusting” experiences just down the road.

Drew said he witnessed an example of this in Agra, saying that he was driving in India and saw a “dead person in the street” but an hour later, he was at the “most beautiful building in the world”, the Taj Mahal.
