Exclusive:
Ex-Towie star Kate is married to England ace Rio Ferdinand and has three teenage stepchildren as well as two of her own
The Ferdinand househould has never been quiet.
And with three teenage step-children and two of her own under five, Kate Ferdinand is certainly used to a frantic morning rush. Not to mention, the stress of all those teenage dramas and tiny tot tantrums.
So, it makes sense that Kate, 33, has a very clear resolution for 2025 and beyond: No more babies….for the sake of her “mental health”.
The former Towie star, who married Rio in 2019, yesterday declared daughter Shae, one, would definitely – 100% – be their last.
“I know that this is going to be our last child, I don’t want any more children,” she said. “I admire anyone that has more than five children. I just couldn’t. It’d be difficult for me to give every child the love. And also, my brain space.. my mental health….
“We knew [Shae] would be the last child.”
And who can blame her. Kate married former England captain Rio, 46, in 2019 – four years after he lost wife Rebecca, the mother of his three children, to cancer.
The new couple soon became the go-to experts on blended families, with Kate sharing her experience of being a stepmum to Lorenz, now 17, Tate, 15, and Tia, 12 on various documentaries, books and podcasts.
But after having son Cree, now four, and Shae, one, with Rio, Kate admits she’s now reached her baby limit.
Both pregnancies were hard – she needed an emergency C-section with Cree – something Kate likened to “an out of body experience” – and Shae was born with congenital pneumonia.

Being a new mum made her particularly sensitive around the home – and Kate was aware the older children struggled to understand her fluctuating moods and behaviour.
One time, she even accused the children of “not loving” her anymore – because they weren’t paying her enough attention.
“I got a vivid thing of them all sitting on the sofa,” she tells Giovanna Fletcher, on the latest edition of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast. “I’m like, ‘none of you love me’..’you don’t care about me. You don’t love me. None of you want to see me upstairs!’
“I was just going on one and they were just looking at me like, ‘is Kate okay?’ I think for them as well, it’s a lot for them to take in. Like ‘Kate’s had a baby and she’s gone cuckoo up there!’.”
