Kate Middleton nailed chic and cosy winter dressing for a trip to the National Portrait Gallery, with a sophisticated roll neck jumper that’s perfect for layering in the cold weather
Although she’s no stranger to the school run when it comes to her own children, yesterday Kate Middleton joined the pupils at All Souls CE Primary School in London for a trip to the National Portrait Gallery. The Princess of Wales was spotted aboard the minibus, before leading the children into the gallery for a day trip.
For the outing, Kate had her chic winter outfit down to a fine art, pairing a trendy chocolate brown blazer with some pinstripe trousers and a cosy navy roll neck jumper. It’s reported that the navy jumper is from Reiss, and after some digging we suspect it may be the Wren Roll-Neck Jumper With Cashmere in Navy, which you can pick up for £98.

Layering really is the secret to staying comfortable in the winter, and the Wren Roll-Neck Jumper is the perfect choice for the occasion. The cashmere and silk-blend jumper would keep Kate warm in the chilly British weather, whilst still being lightweight and breathable enough to wear indoors.
The Wren Roll-Neck Jumper has a super soft and luxurious feel, with a fine knit that makes it easy to tuck into trousers or jeans or to layer under other pieces. The ribbed trims give it a classic look, and the saddle sleeves end in long cuffs which can keep your hands warm when pulled down, or be rolled up for a more laid back look.
Its high neck and long sleeves help it look sophisticated and elegant, whilst also being practical and warm. Whether you want to wear the Wren Roll-Neck Jumper on its own under a blazer or coat like Kate, or layer it with a quilted gilet or under a pinafore dress, it’s one of the most versatile basics you can have in your wardrobe.
You can pick up the Wren Roll-Neck Jumper in sizes extra small to extra large, although sizes are starting to sell out quickly. It’s also available in the shade mink, which is a soft beige colour.
You can also pick up similar styles elsewhere, like the Pure Cashmere Roll Neck Jumper from Autograph at Marks and Spencer. Priced at £98, the jumper is made from 100% cashmere, making it incredibly soft and warm, and you can choose from eight different colours.
Meanwhile, a more budget-friendly option is this Blue Merino Wool Turtle Neck Jumper from GAP, which costs £45. Made from 100% merino wool, the jumper is still machine washable which makes it easy to take care of, and comes in a range of neutral colours.
If you want something ultra-fine and lightweight, the Modal Cashmere Ultralight High-Neck Top from Intimissimi is also priced at £45 with a choice of 13 colours. It has an incredibly lightweight design that makes it amazing for layering under everything from other jumpers and sweatshirts to dresses and jumpsuits.
