Katie Price quit training to be a nurse in order to pursue fame decades ago, but she now wants to return to her roots with courses to become an qualified life coach and paramedic

I’m a Celeb star Katie Price, 46, has revealed the dramatic career U-turn she’s currently chasing.

While known for her start as a Page 3 model and her reality TV shows – such as her recent Channel 4 documentary about trying to have another baby using IVF – she shared that she’s looking to move away from fame and into helping others. Speaking to her sister Sophie in the new episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie opened up about her hopes and dreams for 2025. Peter Andre’s ex shared that work was at the top of her list, with two major courses to complete in order to open up new career paths.

Explaining that she “feels focused and wants to achieve all her goals this year,” Katie said that her focuses were: “The life coaching because I love anything about mental health. These are things I want to achieve for myself. And the paramedic thing. I will have to do the access course.”

This isn’t the first time Katie has spoken about her hopes of moving into the medical field. Back in 2021, an insider claimed that Katie “has made no secret of her dreams of becoming a paramedic” as she was set to become a voluntary first responder for a documentary – but the show didn’t ever seem to come to light.

Then, in January 2023, Katie talked of her hopes to be a paramedic again, explaining that she was training to be a nurse before quitting that career path in favour of showbiz. By September of the same year, Katie was one step closer to her dream, sharing that she was training to be a paramedic after volunteering at St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley following her community service at the hospice’s charity shop. The star was in community service after she pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by contacting her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancé Michelle Penticost.

This time around, Katie’s goals are more specific, as she hopes to use her skills in the facility where her 20-year-old son Harvey Price lives. She told Sophie: “I’m so good with Harvey and I’ve also applied where Harvey’s going, because he moves back – I’ve found a place for him in March.

“He’s moving 20 minutes from me and they even said there that I’d be an amazing carer. So I said I’d be a volunteer once a week to do that. I just love helping people and I want to be on the road, or Air Ambulance, it is a long course.”

Harvey has a learning disability alongside septo-optic dysplasia – a disorder of early brain development which has caused partial blindness for Harvey – autism, and Prader-Willi Syndrome – a rare genetic condition which can cause an excessive appetite, and Katie has been open about how she thinks she can love and look after the young man better than anyone else.
