Carl Woods and Katie Price created embryos together via IVF with the intention of creating a child – but their relationship sensationally collapsed weeks after they underwent the process

Carl Woods has shared his relief that former girlfriend Katie Price failed to conceive a child using his sperm.

The 35-year-old one-time Love Island contestant was in a relationship with 48-year-old mum-of-five Katie from 2020 until 2023 – with the duo even becoming engaged over the course of their romance. When they were together, the pair hoped to welcome a child – and used IVF to boost their chances.

The couple created embryos by harvesting eggs from Katie and sperm from Carl and the OnlyFans star hoped to then impregnate herself with one of the specimens. After they split, however, it became clear that the couple would not proceed with the process.

A new documentary, titled Katie Price: Making Babies, is due to air next week with cameras following Katie as she attempts to become a mother for a sixth time. Footage was filmed back when Katie and Carl were still together – but he has said he is glad that their attempt to become parents together failed.

The car salesman explained that he now feels he has a clean break from Katie and that there is nothing that ties them together. While the pair were happy during their romance, he has since been burned after revealing he discovered Katie had not been loyal during their relationship.

Speaking to The Sun about the failed conception, Carl said: “This is not a heartbreak situation. I’m not unhappy that it didn’t work. I’m ecstatic that it didn’t work. I’m sure she’s glad she’s got the clean break. You know, we don’t have any ties.

“So actually, yes, everything happens for a reason. God was looking down on me and Kate and said, ‘you’re not matched to be parents, let’s not make this work. You go that way, I’ll go this way’.”

While full details of Katie’s latest documentary show – which is due to air on Channel 4 on Monday – remain a mystery, it is expected cameras will show her considering surrogacy. The star has made no secret of the fact she would love to grow her family beyond the five children she already has; Harvey, 22, Junior, 19, Princess, 17, Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10.

A source previously told The Sun: “Katie is thrilled to be embarking on this journey. She loves babies and has made no secret of the fact she has wanted another one for ages.

“She had difficult pregnancies with Bunny and Jett, and struggled to get pregnant again when she was trying with Carl last year. Katie will capture the highs and lows of her surrogacy journey on camera, and she knows her fans will want to see it all. She’s desperate for her kids to have a new brother or sister.”

Katie is now dating Married At First Sight star JJ Slater – and she has previously discussed the fact that she wants him to be at her side when she brings another life into the world. She told The Mirror last year: “I am going to have another baby. There is a clinic that currently has some donor eggs and sperm ready and is waiting for me to come in and have them implanted.

“I went through a list of suitable donors and I have chosen sperm from a man who is mixed race from America and although I potentially have one egg that would be viable, I have chosen to have a donor egg too.”
