Gene Gallagher has announced that he and his Villanelle bandmates will be hitting the road with rocker Miles Kane next year and will be touring the whole country
Liam Gallagher’s son Gene has revealed some huge career news. The 24-year-old model has been making waves in the music industry as the front of the band Villanelle.
In the past, the trio have supported Gene’s dad on tour, as well as recently completing their own headline tour across the nation. But now, they’ve been offered a huge slot – supporting Miles Kane across the United Kingdom next year.
The Wirral-born rocker will be hitting the road to celebrate the release of his sixth studio album, Sinlight In The Shadows and will be performing tracks to fans from January 24, next year. It comes after Villanelle, consisting of Gene, Jack Schiavo and Ben Taylor, recently celebrated the release of their debut single, Hinge.
Speaking about their support slot next year, the band said: “Very pleased to announce we will be joining @mileskane on his 2026 UK tour. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.”
The news went down well with fans who instantly took to social media to share their joy, with one writing: “Best news to wake up to.” A second penned: “Get in! Absolutely love Miles Kane. That’ll be a brilliant gig. Seen him a few times, last time being The Engine Rooms in Southampton. Unbelievable energy, crowd went nuts. A great pairing – fantastic line-up.”
“My worlds are colliding,” added a third. Meanwhile, a fourth typed: “Yess can’t wait for this see you there.” Gene said of the single: “Hinge is about paranoia derived from sleepless nights. I was probably hungover when I wrote it.”
While Ben added: “Hinge is just simple and high energy, anyone can play it, but no one can play it like us.” The lads will support Miles in cities including Glasgow, Sheffield, Southampton, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham and at London’s legendary Roundhouse in Camden on January 30.
Elsewhere, Sunlight In The Shadows, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys is 12 tracks of psych-infused rock n roll. Layered with lush, screeching guitars and packed to the brim with hooks, the album delicately toes the line between raw, energetic rock and laid-back crooning anthems, all with a sprinkling of Miles’ signature rippled tremolo guitar and a whole lot of fun.
“All roads, over 20 years, have led here,” Miles says of the journey to creating Sunlight In The Shadows. “Dan and I love mixing T. Rex, Motown and The Easybeats and the result is this record.
“When we were chatting and sharing references, we were so similar in taste it was frightening and you can hear that shared passion through the music. I can’t wait to take it out on the road. It’s an album that needs to be played live.”
Teaming up with a host of incredible musicians for the record, Kane and Auerbach wrote the album’s eleven original songs with contributions from Pat McLaughlin, Daniel Tashian and The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.
Auerbach sings backing vocals and plays on every track, as part of the record’s guitar army with Tom Bukovac, guitarist Nick Bockrath of Cage The Elephant and Barrie Cadogan from British garage futurists Little Barrie.
