Former One Direction singer Liam Payne appeared in a few TV projects before his tragic death aged 31 on Wednesday, with the future of the shows now unknown following his passing

Two TV shows featuring Liam Payne is said to be ‘hanging in the balance’ after the death of the former One Direction star.

The 31-year-old Strip That Down singer tragically died after falling from the balcony of his third-floor balcony at CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday evening. The preliminary results of an autopsy, performed by the Forensic Medical Corps at the Judicial Morgue on Viamonte Street, revealed that Liam died from “multiple traumas” that caused “internal and external bleeding”.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement: “The head injuries were sufficient to cause death , while the internal and external hemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs contributed to the mechanism of death.” In the wake of his tragic death, it has been reported that a number of television projects that he featured in might not make it to air.

Netflix had greenlit a music competition called Building The Band in May this year, with it being said that filming had wrapped on the show. Liam had signed up to appear as a judge on the streaming platform’s series and was spotted in Manchester two months ago while they were filming auditions.

Building The Band had 50 singers brought together to compete for a chance to form their own band without even seeing each other. They were made to connect using chemistry and musical compatibility before they got to meet. Liam was a mentor alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland. Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean was a host.

According to The Sun, the series was due to drop next year but it no longer seems likely. The publication also said there is a dilemma with the release of the upcoming documentary series, Boybands Forever, which is co-produced by Louis Theroux. The BBC series, which looks at the realities of being in a boyband, might be pushed back. The Mirror have reached out to Netflix and BBC for comment.

Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No 16 said it was investigating the tragic incident as an “inconclusive death”. Yesterday, Liam’s sister Ruth Gibbins, said she does not feel “this world was good enough or kind enough” to him in a heartfelt tribute to her late brother.

In a statement posted on Instagram on Saturday, Ms Gibbins said her brother’s ability to make her laugh is what she “loved most” about him, adding she was “in awe” of his talent. She wrote: “My brain is struggling to catch up with what’s happening and I don’t understand where you’ve gone. What I love most about you is your ability to make me laugh, I never chuckle as much as I do when I’m with you with anyone else. I’m always in awe of your talent, it should be illegal to be so talented and just have the ability to not only be good at things but be bloody great at everything you attempt, without even knowing you’re absolutely smashing it each time.”
