The TV personality, who was victim of an acid attack in 2008, says ‘clothes were important’ in helping her retain her identity following the incident
Presenter and activist Katie Piper has left viewers floored after she stepped out onto the Loose Women panel looking sensational in a gorgeous red mini dress on Tuesday’s show. And the best part? It’s in the sale.
The model and writer, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, looked incredibly glam after being styled by the Mother Shoppers, Gamma and Bertie, in a Compact Stretch Essential Waist Tab Detail Tailored Mini Dress from Karen Millen. Originally £119, the dress has had a rather generous price cut to £83.30 – and it’s currently in stock in sizes 6-16.
The dress offers a ‘figure skimming silhouette’ made from four-way stretch fabric for comfort, boasting tab details designed to cinch the waist. Since Katie shared a snap of the outfit to her 1.1 million Instagram followers, several fans have complimented her look, with one writing: “Looking beautiful as always Katie wearing that gorgeous red dress. Nice legs!!” and “Love your dress.”

The dress, said to exude ‘everyday elegance’ comes in four muted shades if red is a little too daring for you. The outfit also comes in camel, cream, beige and black, if neutrals are more your vibe.
Katie paired the dress with a pair of nude, barely-there heels, but it would look just as stylish with sandals or court heels for a look that will take you from summer office days to date nights. For something a little more affordable, though, this Crepe Pocket Detail Mini Dress from Boohoo could be a good alternative for under £20, though doesn’t look quite as premium.
During the show while discussing Met Gala looks with Michelle Visage, Katie commented that she prefers ‘fashion over function’, opting for jaw-dropping dresses and heels over a pair of trainers. It comes after she said that clothes gave her a lot of confidence in the wake of the acid attack, because “when I was in the mask I couldn’t wear makeup so clothes were important.”
Speaking to ITV Lorraine’s Mark Heyes, she said: “I have kind of relied on it as a way to reinvent myself, create an identity, that whole fake it until you make it. For me clothes are a huge part of who I am, the message I put out to the world as to how I want to be treated. Some clothes make me more assertive and let me go out and be a mother and work.”
