Lorraine Kelly has given her fans an update following her operation that has caused her to miss her ITV show. She has been recuperating from an operation to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

Just two weeks ago, the ITV icon had shared news of the surgery in a hospital-bed video clip. The telly veteran, 65, was eager to let her worried fans know she was on the mend, posting an adorable photo with her grandchild Billie on Instagram.

Lorraine chose to have the “purely preventative” surgery, leaving her followers sending their good wishes. According to the NHS, the bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) operation is a common surgery that takes 40-60 minutes.

It can help women with ovarian cysts in perimenopausal age group, manage pain or prevent onset of ovarian cancer. On Instagram, Lorraine provided a new update as she wrote: “Thanks so much for all your get well wishes.

“Billie providing the medicine ever with lots of cuddles for her granny. Hopefully back to work on Monday. I’ve missed you.”

With Lorraine absent from her weekday show, Andi Peters had to jump in after Ranvir Singh also unexpectedly withdrew to deal with an urgent health crisis, as she needed surgery for a ruptured appendix.

Fans flooded Lorraine’s post with heartfelt messages. A fan exclaimed: “Billie looks so much like Rosie there!, reports the Express.

Another added: “Your smile says it all.” Someone else commented: “I love this picture … babies are the best medicine ever … take care, my friend. ” A fourth added, “Lovely photo, and glad Billie is cheering you up.”

Earlier this month, Lorraine reached out to her fans with a personal update. She said: “Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today. I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.

“It’s purely preventative. It’s going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I’m being very well looked after, and I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m gonna be totally fine.”

Currently, Lorraine is recuperating at her stunning Buckinghamshire home, where she’s being doted on by her husband Steve Smith and their daughter Rosie.

Their luxurious £2 million abode is complete with a breathtaking lounge TV room, boasting high ceilings and charming wooden beams.

It’s been seven years since Lorraine made the move from Scotland to the lush English countryside. The lounge is a highlight of the house with its lofty ceilings, elevated windows, and doors that lead out to the garden, bathing the room in natural light.

The much-loved broadcaster has dedicated many years to her career in London, often commuting back and forth from the city. Eventually, Lorraine and her family decided to settle down more permanently near the hustle and bustle, picking a delightful Buckinghamshire property as their sanctuary.
