Two houses affected by fire

Essex Fire and Rescue have confirmed that two houses and three sheds were affected by the fire, which broke out around 4.30pm this afternoon.

One fire engine remains at the scene tonight.

A spokesperson said: “Three sheds were completely alight and two houses were affected, but crews minimised damage.

“A hazardous material unit was initially requested due to concerns cylinders were involved, but no action was needed.

“A crew from Brentwood will remain at the scene into the evening to dampen down and check for hotspots.”
