Shayne Jansen appeared in season two of the reality dating show in 2022 – but his newfound fame saw his life spiral with addiction before he decided to overhaul his life
Former Love Is Blind star Shayne Jansen has revealed his extraordinary body transformation after his newfound fame saw him hit rock bottom.
The 36-year-old appeared on season two of the dating show in 2022, when he was famously dumped at the altar by his fiancée Natalie Mina Lee. He quickly embraced his stardom after the show, but struggles with drugs and alcohol soon followed and he found himself in a dark place.
“I was like Brad Pitt in Chicago for a good three months . . . I could go to the best steakhouse and that owner probably was doing some drugs . . . and I would go back in the room and do it,” Jansen, 36, told The New York Post.

“We were just living like rock stars. I would never wait in line at a club at all. I could talk to any girl . . . Anything I wanted I could have there instantly. But it’s not healthy, when you get a lot of yes and no nos — that’s a dangerous game to play.”
Jansen’s reality star status soon took its toll. Fans became incredibly concerned for his wellbeing in April 2023, when he went on TikTok Live acting erratically and looked worse for wear, saying he “self sabotages everything”.
“Wtf is going on!!!” a viewer questioned, while another wrote: “Poor guy. Is clearly struggling. I hope he gets the help he needs. It’s never too late to try.”
“I got 10 phone calls right after. People I hadn’t heard from in years. That’s when you knew it was bad,” Jansen admitted.
The star knew he needed to make some big changes, and decided to move from Chicago to Austin, Texas to escape temptations. He quit drugs and drinking and hit the gym four times a week, going from 230 pounds to 210 pounds of muscle.

In July, he posted shirtless before-and-after pictures, highlighting his new washboard abs — and ever since his female fans have been hiring him in droves as their fitness trainer.
The Georgia native, who grew up in Wisconsin, had written in the caption: “Progress doesn’t just come from doing ‘more’, it comes from doing what you can, consistently.”
He was quickly inundated with supportive comments from fans on the post with one writing, “Looking healthier and happier bro!” A second echoed: “You look amazing. Total transformation. Stay happy and stay healthy.”
A third described Jansen’s transformation as the “Glow up of the century”, while a fourth said: “You are DIALLED in!!!!! Amazing results!!!!! I bet you feel on top of the world.”
