A terrified man woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of scratching at his window before his ex broke into his home and crawled into bed with him.

Paris Coudounellis, 20, appeared in court after her former partner’s mum walked in the next morning to see the hairdresser unexpectedly laying in bed with her son. The ex-boyfriend of two years, Luke Paterson, told a court he heard noises from his bedroom window one night in June, 2024, but could not figure out where it came from, before going back to bed. He said he had no idea Coudounellis was in his room, in Sydney, Australia, until his mum came in the next morning.

His hairdresser ex broke into his room by cutting open two flyscreens, before climbing into bed with him for the night. She later caused $1,200 (around £580) worth of damage to a Mercedes car in a different argument.

He had driven his mum’s Mercedes to work later in June, and parked it outside the surf life saving club. Coudounellis then got into the vehicle and started kicking inside the car as she accused her ex-boyfriend of seeing another woman, according to News.co.au.

In her rage, she damaged the Mercedes’ air conditioning vent and other controls, resulting in the large repairs bill. Coudounellis ran into her ex again in August 2024 at a gym where the two started arguing. Mr Paterson went home but the hairdresser followed him back and pulled off a screen on his bedroom window.

The court heard the ex-girlfriend said, “I’m not leaving until you come outside to talk to me,” before the spat continued for another hour.

Coudounellis was arrested and charged later in August and appeared at Waverley Local Court in Sydney on Wednesday. She pleaded guilty to three counts of damaging property, one count of common assault and breaching an apprehended violence order – which was in place for her ex-boyfriend.

The court also adjourned the case for six weeks and she will be back in court for her sentencing in June.

This comes after a woman said was left horrified after discovering her ex-boyfriend, who she broke up with over a decade before, had been living in her attic.

The mother-of-five said she realised something was wrong when she heard a thump inside her home in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The mum, only identified as Tracy, revealed she spotted nails falling from the ceiling of a bedroom.

In the early hours of the morning, Tracy felt “something just ain’t right”, she said at the time, before her adult sons and nephew found her ex-partner – who spent two weeks in the attic after being released from prison.

Tracy said: “They found a man. He had packed all the old coats and jackets into the heating unit and was sleeping in the heating unit.”
