A man searching for the most “dismal” food Britain has to offer was left horrified by a tinned “all day breakfast”.
The notorious Hunger Breaks tin has puzzled content creators and members of the public for years, with one YouTube video reviewing the product simply asking “why?”. And now a TikTok user known as DismalDinners has given it a go.
The can contains sausage, beans and something called an “egg nugget”, and left DismalDinners feeling like God “abandoned us”. His search for the worst dinners in the country has seen him eat likes of Fray Bentos pies and microwaved Sunday roasts.
DismalDinners said in this latest video: “For a nation renowned for having some of the dullest dishes known to man, we sure do make a proper breakfast… When I heard that someone had miraculously stuffed one inside a can for our convenience, well I was quite excited.” However, that excitement soon disappeared.
The sound of the breakfast slumping into the bowl left the TikTok creator horrified. Taking it to and from the microwave before he “rummaged through the wreckage” of the breakfast, he seemed dumbfounded by the “genetic horror” on display. The all day breakfast tin received a pitiful 4/10 rating.
However, DismalDinners’ comments section was filled with love for the Hunger Breaks item. One user wrote: “Mate the all day breakfast is elite! Used to live off them at my dads sad divorce flat.” Another claimed the food was “great as a camping meal”.
University students admitted it was a “guilty pleasure” meal, while others praised the tinned breakfast as a hangover cure saved for “emergencies”. Another user said: “These have saved me many times at festivals.” The all day breakfast tin contains baked beans in tomato sauce, button mushrooms, chopped pork, a bacon burger and an “egg nugget”. DismalDinners likened the egg nugget to a “polyp of pity” in his scathing review.
