Manchester United supporters believe they have already completed their first transfer this summer after the club’s website was updated following the launch of their new kit

Manchester United fans believe the club have decided to make Sofyan Amrabat’s loan move permanent after the midfielder was pictured modelling their new kit.

Amrabat joined United on loan from Fiorentina last summer, with the deal including an option to buy, and he went on to make 30 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions. He notably impressed in the FA Cup final, with United beating local rivals Manchester City 2-1.

Speaking after the final, Amrabat admitted he wants to stay at United, but was unsure what the future held for him. “Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk,” he told Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport.

“Staying is certainly an option. Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United it needs to be much better, and also for me personally. I have always remained calm and trained very hard. Ultimately, that patience has been rewarded.

“We are going to talk. Manchester United are the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties have to be happy with each other, so we will sit down now and see what happens.”

And some fans believe United have decided to trigger his buy option, with Amrabat still listed on the first-team players section of their website with an updated picture showing him wearing their new kit.

His loan deal was due to expire on June 30 and Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Brandon Williams have all been removed from the same section, with the trio getting released after their contracts expired.

Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton also remain listed as part of United’s first-team, with the veteran duo in talks with the club about new deals after their contracts also expired on June 30. However, according to the Manchester Evening News, United have not yet made a final decision on Amrabat’s future.

The report states that Ten Hag is set to discuss potentially buying Amrabat with technical director Jason Wilcox, chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth later this month, with Berrada due to officially start his new job on July 13.

The appointment of Ashworth was confirmed on July 1 after United finally reached an agreement with Newcastle to buy him out of his contract following months of protracted negotiations.
