Ruben Amorim is expected to make significant changes to Manchester United’s playing squad this summer and several high-profile incomings and outgoings are expected
Manchester United are expected to be active in the summer transfer market and speculation over potential moves is already growing louder as we get closer and closer to the end of a wretched season for the Red Devils.
Ruben Amorim has predominantly worked with the squad he inherited from his predecessor, Erik ten Hag, and should finally get the chance to put his stamp on the playing squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. A new striker is understood to be high on the club’s agenda with United struggling for goals this term.
Outgoings are expected too with Marcus Rashford and Antony both likely to move on permanently after impressing during loan spells at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively.

Garnacho speaks out
Alejandro Garnacho insists he is happy at Manchester United in the wake of fresh speculation linking him with a move. The Argentina international was the subject of transfer interest from Chelsea back in January and it’s thought that United would consider serious offers for the majority of their playing squad in order to help them finance an overhaul ahead of the new season.
The Blues are thought to retain an interest in Garnacho, who is valued by United at around £65million. But the winger said in a press conference on Wednesday: “Obviously as a footballer you read and listen to some rumours about the future, but I have a contract here until 2028. I am happy here.”
Antony transfer promise
Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon has revealed that the club ‘promised’ Manchester United that Antony would ‘regain his value’ if he were to join the club on loan. The winger has been in fantastic form since moving to La Liga, clocking up seven goals and four assists in 20 games.
Betis are keen on signing Antony again – be it permanently or on loan – this summer. And while it remains to be seen if they can finance a permanent move, Alarcon says they were always confident he would get back to his best. He told El Desmarque: “The good thing is that at Christmas we made a promise to Manchester [United]. If he comes to Betis, it’s a place where he’ll regain his value, which is what they wanted, because it’s through his play, and because it’s a place that adapts very well to the type of game Antony had.”
United plot Kean move
Manchester United will make a shock swoop for Moises Kean, the former Everton striker, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, according to Foot Mercato.
The Red Devils will land a golden ticket for the Champions League if they go on to win the Europa League in the coming weeks. But if they are fall short, they will revise their summer transfer plans – and that could lead to an approach for Kean, who has been in fine form for Fiorentina this season.
