Manchester United have lodged their first bid for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who Ruben Amorim hopes will become their second signing of the summer transfer window after Matheus Cunha
Manchester United’s summer transfer window has already seen its fair share of twists and turns – and we’re only six days in. The Red Devils were quick out of the blocks, announcing the signing of Matheus Cunha when the window opened on Sunday.
United left Wolves with no option but to sell after after activating the Brazilian forward’s £62.5million release clause. Cunha has signed a five-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months but won’t be unveiled until after the international break.
Now it’s on to another Premier League-proven attacker: Bryan Mbeumo. The Brentford winger, who scored 20 goals this season, has decided that he wants to join United, despite interest from Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Mbeumo’s wage demands put the trio off making a move but the Red Devils are full steam ahead. First, though, they’ll need to agree a deal with Brentford and the first offer has been made.
Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Brentford reject opening Mbeumo bid
Manchester United have seen their first bid for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo rejected. The Red Devils offered £45m up front and £10m in potential add-ons, totalling a £55m package.
But the Bees are standing firm after the 25-year-old winger indicated that he wants to join United, despite their lack of European football. Brentford are sticking to their £60m price tag and named a current member of Ruben Amorim’s squad to argue that it’s a fair rate.

Osimhen receives £34m Saudi offer
Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have offered Victor Osimhen a staggering £34m per year after being linked with a move to Manchester United. Osimhen, 26, is set to be sold by Napoli this summer after a prolific loan spell with Galatasaray, who also want to sign him.
Demand for the Nigeria international has increased among the United fan base after Chelsea hijacked their move for Liam Delap. But Osimhen will have to decide whether to wait for United, who need to sell players first, accept Al-Hilal’s mega-money proposal or stick with Galatasaray – if they can afford him.

Mount urged to leave
Mason Mount has been told to find a new club ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker. Former Chelsea midfielder Mount has struggled since his £60m move to Old Trafford in 2023 and despite Ruben Amorim being a big fan, Parker is certainly not.
“I’ve said it before, but I just can’t ever see him having a key role at Manchester United,” Parker told aceodds.com. “He has no standout qualities and now we’re really seeing why Chelsea were happy to let him go.”
