Manchester United have their eyes on one thing until the end of the season – success in the Europa League. The club’s Premier League term has offered only a whimper but some success could still be achieved.

United must overcome Tottenham to lift a trophy and if they manage that they will earn Champions League football. It would provide some much-needed respite for Ruben Amorim in his first months in charge.

But one eye also must be on the summer. Amorim has called on the club to brave in the window as he prepares to take charge of pre-season for the first time.

There is a demand to bring new players in and to offload the likes of Marcus Rashford and more. It will be no small task for the Red Devils.

Advanced talks continue

Manchester United continue to be in advanced talks to sign Wolves star Matheus Cunha, according to reports. Both player and club are still said to be positive over a move and are working on an agreement at an advanced stage.

The Brazilian forward has drawn plenty of transfer interest after an impressive season United are planning to launch a bid. Wolves will want the buyers to activate Cunha’s £62.5million release clause.

10-player cull

Gary Neville has called for Manchester United to offload as many as 10 players in the summer. The former Red Devils captain called for the club to back Ruben Amorim’s overhaul of the squad.

Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, the former defender said: “You’re talking about eight to 10 players have to go. There’s three or four players that will leave through being out of contract, and he needs to get [another] five or six out, and they’re going to have to pay to get them out.

“Rashford’s wages now will be paid half by Manchester United. That’s £180,000-a-week, £8million-a-year being paid by United.”

“I think he looks around the dressing room and thinks ‘If I could wave a magic wand, in the next five years at least 50 per cent of this team wouldn’t be here’,” he added.
