Manchester United are looking to completed a Premier League double over neighbours Manchester City, who head to Old Trafford without the injured Erling Haaland
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will start with Kevin De Bruyne in his starting XI for the Manchester derby. The Belgian confirmed he will leave the club this summer, but he’ll look to get one more derby win under his belt.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has opted to start with Rasmus Hojlund up top as he looks to complete the double over City. The Portuguese boss enjoyed a landmark success over Guardiola’s side early in his tenure as he eyes a repeat.
Amad was the hero that day but he’s injured for the remainder of the season and Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho will help provide the attacking threat for the hosts. The Red Devils were beaten at Nottingham Forest in midweek as they sit firmly in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
City meanwhile need to continue winning if they want to ensure their spot in next season’s Champions League with the battle for the top five particularly congested. Guardiola has Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic in his midfield alongside De Bruyne.
Erling Haaland picked up a major injury in last weekend’s win at Bournemouth and in his absence Omar Marmoush will lead the line for the visitors.
Man Utd XI: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro; Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu; Garnacho, Fernandes; Hojlund.
Man City XI: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Kovacic, Gundogan; Bernardo, De Bruyne, Foden; Marmoush
