Surgeon Dr Rijul Marwah said the tumour was so big and the patient was having trouble eating food and even walking. A local source said: “The tumour was attached to the right kidney, inferior vena cava and aorta. Therefore, the team had to be extremely cautious while performing the surgery. Even the slightest mistake could have been fatal.
“While removing this lump, it was a big challenge to protect the nerves related to the kidney and spinal cord. The tumour had covered several nerves. The entire operation took three hours. After the operation, the patient is completely healthy and will be discharged after being under observation for a few days.”
According to the doctors, the patient visited the hospital after suffering from stomach pain and swelling. Doctors were said to be “shocked” to find the tumour and operated immediately.
