Married At First Sight Australia star Liam Cooper has announced the happy news that he is engaged to his ‘soulmate’ Samuel Levi.
The TV star, 33, shared the happy news on his Instagram page as he posted photos of himself down on one knee in front of a table covered with red rose petals. Other snaps show a close-up of the ring he popped the question with and a sweet selfie of the pair locking lips.
Meanwhile, Liam also shared a video sneak peek inside their romantically dressed hotel rom at the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa in Hepburn Springs, in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region of Victoria.
Sharing the happy news on his Instagram page, he wrote in the caption: “20•08•25 — a day I’ll never forget. I asked my best friend, my soulmate, my forever, to marry me @_samuellevi” followed by a ring emoji and red heart emoji.

He added: “Huge thank you to @hepburnbathhousespa for helping me arrange this, and making the surprise that extra special”.
Liam and Samuel, who appeared on Married At First Sight New Zealand, were flooded with messages of congratulations in the comments section of the post, including from MAFS stars. Season five star Sarah Jane Roza wrote: “Ooooh Congratulations Lovebirds!”
While Beth Moore added: “omg congratulations you two!!!!” And season six and seven MAFS star Lizzie Sobinoff penned: “The most beautiful news. Absolutely gorgeous, again congratulations.”
Meanwhile, some fans were puzzled by the news as Liam and Samuel, who rose to fame from MAFS New Zealand, split in April 2023 after 18 months together. “I thought you guys broke up?,” one fan asked.
Liam announced the sad news in a statement which read: “As much as it has been for ourselves, and a sad day.
“But myself and Samuel would like to just let you all know we will be taking a break on our relationship. And not moving forward as a ‘couple’ for now.”
He added: “We entered this relationship very publicly and in the public eye, which is why we also wanted to be transparent with you all.”
After ending their relationship, Liam and Samuel remained friends and even continued to live together. Earlier this year, the pair revealed they were back on track and spent Liam’s birthday together in April.
Liam gushed over their reconciliation as he shared a carousel of snaps on Instagram. He wrote: “Some people walk into your life and make everything brighter — thank you to the both of you for giving me a birthday filled with love, laughter, and memories I’ll cherish forever. I’m so lucky to have you both in my life. You’ve made me feel truly special, and I’ll never forget it”.
Liam first shot into the spotlight in 2021, when he appeared on Married At First Sight Australia and was paired with bride Georgia Fairweather. Liam candidly discussed his bisexuality on the show as he became the first openly bisexual groom on the show.
