Maya Jama, who is a presenter and DJ on BBC Radio 1, took to her family to Wembley to watch Rúben Dias play for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup

Maya Jama and Rúben Dias were snapped packing on the PDA at a football event on Monday night.

The footage appears to confirm the couple’s romance, which has been rumoured for several weeks. Sources said Maya, 30, and 27-year-old footballer Rúben, who plays for Manchester City, have getting “more serious” lately.

They were pictured kissing and cuddling at KSI’s Baller League event on Monday. Video shows them with their arms around each other before he leans into her neck for a peck, with Rúben flying under the radar in casual clothes and a cap.

“Maya and Rúben seemed very close, very loved up and were clearly very comfortable with each other. They were chatting to others around them but gravitated back to each other. They seem very happy with each other,” a source said.

It is the first time they have been seen in public since they were thought to have started dating – though Maya has often hinted at the romance by sharing snaps of flowers she has been sent.

Speculation the couple had started dating emerged earlier this year and, after Match of the Day host Gary Lineker appeared to let the cat out of the bag in an advert for the Baller League, social media went into a frenzy. Maya, a presenter on BBC Radio 1, is understood to have introduced the Portuguese footballer to her mum last month, though again the couple hadn’t confirmed any romance to fans online.

But now the clip, published by The Sun, is the biggest step in the couple giving fans the nod they’ve found happiness. It is a poignant moment for Maya, a panellist on The Masked Singer, after her bombshell split from rapper Stormzy, whom she dating on and off for several years.

Maya and her family also went to Wembley to watch Rúben play in Manchester City’s 2-0 triumph over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The win books City’s place in the final of the FA Cup, in which they will face Crystal Palace after the Eagles thumped Aston Villa 3-0.

Maya, who hosts Love Island, shared a video on the way to the stadium as she penned “family day out to Wembley” in the caption – while her mother and brother sat in the car with her. The star, originally from Bristol, then shared a snap of the pitch as she watched on – while her family enjoyed the atmosphere.

Rúben, a central defender who signed for City from Benfica in 2020, has made more than 60 appearances for the full Portugal side. The footballer was in a relationship with Portuguese singer-songwriter April Ivy from 2018 to 2021.
