Meghan Markle has opened up about her money fears in a new podcast episode of ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ and revealed she has a ‘scarcity mindset’ when it comes to finances
The Duchess of Sussex has shared her concerns about financial security in the latest episode of her podcast, ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’. In a candid conversation with billionaire shapewear founder Sara Blakely, Meghan Markle discussed the topic of finances.
Sara Blakely highlighted the lack of positive narratives around financial freedom during her chat with the podcast host.
In response, the 43 year old As Ever founder confessed she would “love to adopt” a healthier attitude towards money. Meghan stated: “So many women, especially, we’re taught to not even talk about money. And there’s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot.”

Markle noted how it’s all too “easy” to feel that financial stability is unattainable. Meghan further added: “And at the same time, there’s a scarcity mindset that it’s easy to attach to, of like ‘I’ll never have enough’.”
It comes after Meghan Makle has secued a new Netflix deal despite ratings which insiders concede were ‘limp’ and ‘disappointing’. The second season is coming in the autumn and has already finished filming, according to Netflix. But ‘With Love, Meghan’ will be recommissioned for a third series to be shown next year, with the deal being renewed in September, according to MailOnline.
Sara, the former CEO of the popular women’s shapewear brand, was selling fax machines when she conceived the idea for shapewear in 1998. With an impressive net worth of $1.3 billion, Sara shared her journey of building her empire from scratch, reports the Express.
Meanwhile, the couple’s Montecito property has significantly outperformed the overall California housing market, which reports suggest has seen median home prices surge by 41% since June 2020.
In the concluding episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, produced by Archewell Audio Productions, Meghan Markle engaged in conversation with the founder of shapewear. During their discussion, Meghan shared her experiences with pregnancy, including her significant weight gain and the challenges of navigating high heels while expecting.
Meghan reminisced: “I gained 65 pounds during both pregnancies.”
She also mentioned an amusing anecdote about a friend recalling a photo from her pregnancy with Archie, saying: “A friend just said to me the other day, they were like, ‘I just saw this picture I’d forgotten about when you were so pregnant with Archie.'”.
Meghan continued: “I always wear my five-inch, pointy-toed stilettos. You have the most enormous bump and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels. But all my weight was in the front..”
She humorously described the struggle of maintaining balance: “So you’re just going, how on Earth am I not just tipping, you know, face planting? I was clinging very closely to my husband, like, ‘Please don’t let me fall.'”.
Meghan resides in California with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, following their decision to step down from Royal duties in 2020. The future of Confessions of a Female Founder, including the possibility of a second season, remains uncertain.
