Meghan Markle is set to launch her brand new podcast ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ in the next few weeks – and its launch date coincides with a major date in King Charles and Queen Camilla’s diary

Meghan Markle is facing yet another royal diary clash with the launch of her new podcast. Fresh off the back of her panned Netflix series With Love, Meghan, it has been revealed that the Duchess is launching a podcast called ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’.

Meghan described the venture as “candid conversations” with “amazing women” about the success and struggles of their businesses – as she launched her own lifestyle brand, As Ever. A trailer for the eight-part series, launched with Lemonada Media, is set to drop tomorrow with the first episode being available to listen to on April 8.

And it’s launch is set to clash with a major event for King Charles and Queen Camilla with the podcast coming right in the middle of their upcoming trip to Italy. It was confirmed by Buckingham Palace last week that the King and Queen would be heading to both Rome and Ravenna from April 7 to April 10.

The historic tour, exclusively revealed earlier this year by The Mirror, will also see the couple visit the Vatican with a meeting with frail Pope Francis also on the cards due to his improving outlook after he left hospital yesterday. The trip will also see Charles and Camilla in Italy for their 20th wedding anniversary on April 9.

However, it is not the first time that projects by Meghan and Prince Harry have appeared to clash with major royal events. In 2022, the trailer for their explosive Netflix documentary was released when the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Boston for the Earthshot Prize.

Meanwhile, back in 2019, Meghan, who was still a working royal at the time, is said to have left Camilla “very upset” after photos of her were released as she gave the landmark speech. Meghan was said to have broken a pledge not to overshadow Camilla’s campaign on domestic violence by having the pictures of her private visit to the National Theatre be published the same day.

Earlier this month, Meghan wrote on her Instagram account that she was “so excited” to share the news of her podcast, describing recording the series as “absolutely eye-opening, inspiring…and fun!” The former Suits actress added: “Because what’s the point if we can’t have some fun on this wild adventure?” She said the women had shared their “tips, tricks (and tumbles)” as well as “letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever”.

Meanwhile, on the royal trip to Italy, Charles will pass two milestones, becoming the first British monarch to visit the Papal Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls, the resting place of St Paul since the reformation, and address both houses of Italy’s parliament.

The King will hold audiences with Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the monarch and his wife will attend a black-tie state banquet at the Palazzo Quirinale, hosted by the president.

Other highlights of the trip will see the UK and Italy’s defence cooperation marked by a joint flypast over Rome by the Italian Air Force’s aerobatic team, Frecce Tricolori, and by the RAF’s Red Arrows.

In Ravenna, near Bologna, Charles and Camilla will mark the 80th anniversary of the province’s liberation from Nazi occupation by Allied forces on April 10, 1945, during a town hall reception, and will celebrate literary culture by visiting Dante’s tomb, with the Queen making a solo trip to the Byron museum.
