The Meta Quest 3S is the easiest entry point for many players who are keen to see what all the VR fuss is about, and there’s a deal across numerous retailers that will offer you the headset and a free game at their lowest price.
Players new and experienced in the world of VR can now get their hands on one of the most cost-effective headsets on the market, the Meta Quest 3S 256GB, which is now at its lowest-ever price and comes with a handful of freebies.
You’ll be able to pick up the Meta Quest 3S 256GB from Amazon for only £339 in the UK, its lowest price on the site since it launched, as well as on Currys, on Very, through Argos and direct from Meta. The bundle for the headset will also come with a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month subscription to Meta Quest+, which will offer you access to a library of titles, including Asgard’s Wrath 2, Fruit Ninja and Walkabout Mini Golf. This deal applies to the headset’s 256GB storage option, but the model also comes in a smaller 128GB version.
VR is still very much on the rise, but that doesn’t mean that players aren’t still getting stuck into the gaming medium in its current form, and there are some genuinely brilliant and immersive VR experiences.
Meta Quest 3S drops to lowest-ever price
The headset is the most cost-effective of Meta’s VR offerings, dishing out a slightly lower-quality resolution from the larger Meta Quest 3 to ensure the headset is accessible, with an 1832×1920 pixel per eye visual span. Our hardware expert Jasmine Mannan said in her review that when it comes to mixed reality experiences like using the headset’s YouTube or WhatsApp apps, “a mixed reality headset is never going to look the same as real life, but the Meta Quest 3S did a pretty good job at replicating that”, but the headset can be a little fiddly when it comes to adjusting its lenses, as “the adjustment process is now replicating the laborious, remove the headset, slide the lenses, put the headset back on that we found with the Meta Quest 2. Meta had to find a way to cut costs somewhere, but this is a bit annoying.”
In our review for Batman: Arkham Shadow, we explored the game that allows you to truly become Batman, and though it was sullied by a few technical difficulties, our gaming expert Aaron Potter stated that “its attention to detail with regards to the world and what you can do with in it ultimately make up for these challenges and makes the game feel like a genuine part of the Arkhamverse.”
There are heaps of games that are waiting for you on the Meta Quest 3S, including some of the most critically acclaimed VR titles on the market. It’s a great way to get stuck into the world of truly immersive gaming, especially if you’re a fan of the Batman Arkham series of games. If you were looking for your chance to become the night, this is it. And let’s be honest, you’re not going to say no to the chance to be Batman.
