Metro Bank appears to be having issues with its banking app today, with customers complaining that payments are being duplicated.

The issue has left some customers in “minus figures” in their accounts, according to social media posts. Metro Bank has confirmed it is experiencing issues on its service status page.

On its website, a post reads: “We’re currently having issues with our payment services, so it may take longer to receive money into your account. We’re working to fix this as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.”

An identical statement has been published confirming issues with sending money, as well. The Mirror has contacted Metro Bank for comment.
