Greater Manchester Police have taped off a residential street following a suspected shooting on Green Lane, in Middleton, this morning, with police in attendance overnight

A Manchester home has been left riddled with bullet holes after a reported gun rampage, with police shutting down parts of the city following the horror incident.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have erected a crime scene on a residential street in the city this morning following a suspected overnight shooting. Pictures from the scene shot bullet holes punched into the home’s windows on Green Lane, in Middleton, this morning, hours after police were called to the scene.

GMP said police received their first call at 10pm on Wednesday, and officers have since taped off Green Lane in both directions, between Birch Road and Hazel Road. People have been urged to avoid the area as enquiries continue, with the service saying in a statement that it is investigating.

Manchester Evening News reports that they said no one was injured after the shots were fired, with no arrests having been made. Additional images shared this morning show police investigating behind a yellow taped off section of a residential neighbourhood. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10pm on Wednesday, March 12 2025, we were called to reports of a suspected firearms discharge on Green Lane, in Middleton.

“Police arrived, and no one was injured at the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage in the investigation, and enquiries are ongoing.” A series of police vehicles could be seen in attendance at the scene this morning, with a number of GMP officers manning the cordon.
