Tomorrow sees the Prince and Princess of Wales celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary, and we’ve taken a look back at the tumultuous year they’ve had in the midst of health woes. Princess Kate is now in remission for her cancer, and things are seeming much bright for her and Prince William.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “Their first anniversary after Catherine’s official remission has to be that extra bit special. Every milestone takes them that little bit further away from the dreadful day when she was diagnosed with cancer. After his mother died, William said he knew it would make or break him and he refused to let it break him.”

Beautiful European seaside resort left to rot becomes haven for dark tourism

Once a hotspot for Hollywood royalty, one seaside resort has become an eerie ghost town – but since becoming a hub for ‘dark tourism’, this Cypriot destination has taken on a second life.

Not far from popular Cyprus holiday resorts like Paphos and Limassol sits Varosha. Varosha was once a glamorous holiday destination in its own right, frequented by Elizabeth Taylor and other stars of the 1960s.

But when the Turkish army invaded the northern region of Cyprus on July 20, 1974, the seaside resort changed forever. Five days prior, there had been a coup attempt supported by the Greek junta. The 15,000 residents of Varosha were forced to flee in large numbers as a result of the military invasion, abandoning their homes, places of business, and immaculate beaches.

NHS prescription charges in England will be frozen for the first time in three years – keeping the cost below a tenner.

Keir Starmer described the move as “significant” while Health Secretary Wes Streeting it will “put money back into the pockets of millions of patients” with £18million in savings. The current charge for a prescription is £9.90 after a hike of around 2.6% last year but this year the cost will be frozen, the government said.

Speaking on Monday, Mr Starmer said: “Today we are freezing prescription charges so that means they won’t go over £10 and that is really significant, because very many people have to pay for prescriptions. There’s a sort of cost-of-living crisis that is still very challenging for people, so this is an important measure in that.”
