Italian hunk Federico Cola was holidaying in the Seychelles when he encountered the beast in the Indian Ocean – and shared footage of the incident to Instagram

A male model managed to find the funny side after finding himself being attacked by an octopus whilst swimming in the sea.

Federico Cola joked that he had found his “true love” after the animal wrapped itself around his leg. The Italian was on holiday in the Seychelles in East Africa when he encountered the eight-legged sea beast.

A video of the incident shows Federico enjoying a dip in the Indian Ocean when something suddenly pulls at his leg forcing him to topple over into the water. The octopus can then be seen wrapped around his leg before he grabs it and holds it in his arms.

The hunky model then carries the octopus to the shore to show it to the camera. And after seemingly befriending the mollusc, he is seen dousing it with seawater on the shoreline before bizarrely allowing it to crawl all over his back.

Federico then has to extract the clinging animal from his ripped body to return it to the sea. In a clip of the strange occurrence, he penned to his 131,000 followers: “What a magical surprise, this first of the year.

“I found my love. Actually, she found me, haha.” The video soon went viral with a whopping 26.6million tuning in and over 12,000 Instagram users commenting on it, as reported by What’s The Jam. One of them quipped: “She is falling in love with you.”

Another wrote: “She knew something we don’t.” A third said in shock: “I’d be screaming for the rest of the year.” A fourth joked: “I’m not sure if this post came to me through my hot guy algorithm or my octopus lover algorithm.”

Whilst a fifth explained: “If you go back to the same area and spend a bit of time there, this same octopus will find you and continue to befriend you. They can become very loyal.”

Federico, who is 6’2″ originally comes from Bormio, Italy and now lives in Milan. He has worked for famous modelling agencies such as Click Model Management, D’Management Group, Kult Models and L.A. Models.
