Shocking new footage shows the moment a woman allegedly hits a female police officer in the face – leaving her crying in the corner of the train.

Police said they were responding to a separate incident at Birmingham New Street railway station when they received a report of domestic violence. After standing in to separate the pair involved, two officers were assaulted on the train, with one needing treatment in hospital.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of one count of domestic violence and two counts of assault against an emergency worker.

In footage of the incident shared on social media, a woman can be heard screaming by the doors of the train as she is detained by two officers and taken onto the platform A female police officer is then seen sat on the floor, where she appears to be in tears and is comforted by an anti-social behaviour officer.

The woman continues to cause a commotion and flail her arms on the platform as three officers attempt to restrain her, and one of them appears to shout “stop resisting”. The female police is again seen crying in the corridor of the train.

A statement from the British Transport Police said: “We have zero-tolerance for violence on the railway, particularly against officers just doing their job. Officers were responding to a separate incident on the train at Birmingham New Street railway station when they were made aware of a report of domestic violence.

“An officer was assaulted whilst separating the pair, requiring hospital treatment. A second officer was also assaulted. A woman was arrested on suspicion of one count of domestic violence and two counts of assault against an emergency worker.”
