Rich in historical significance, the Swabian Castle represents the town’s most important historical landmark, dubbed the “most beautiful” in Italy. The fortress was constructed in a location of considerable military and strategic value, reports the Express.

Following the castle’s completion, the town developed as residents began to establish themselves there. In 1989, the final descendants of the family who possessed the Castle chose to gift it to Rocca Imperiale’s local council. Whilst it may lack the magnificence of some contemporary fortresses, its heritage and antiquity make it an essential destination.

For those seeking dining options, I Due Scogli provides an array of Italian fare, seafood specialities, Mediterranean dishes and broths. One customer remarked: “Eight years of living in Italy has helped me understand what to look for in a fantastic Italian restaurant. From the kind and courteous welcome, to the recommendations from the owner, the whole experience was just perfect for a nice Sunday lunch out here in Southern Italy.”

“The white wine recommended was sublime and the food was simple and well chosen. I can’t wait to come back! Do yourself a favour and drop by if you’re hungry and in the aream,” they added.

For accommodation, Casa Castello offers a distinctive base to discover the surroundings, boasting a prime spot in the town centre. The establishment features ocean and garden vistas alongside buffet and continental breakfast choices.

One visitor commented: “This place is great, it’s quiet and clean. It is also located in the historic centre, very close to the castello walls. There is a beautiful sitting area on the piazza nearby, with a great view of the castello and surrounding countryside. The downstairs sofa bed was the most comfortable sofa bed I’ve ever slept in.”
