The denim dress from M&S was a huge hit with shoppers when it dropped earlier this year, and it has been restocked in all sizes – but some are already selling out

A popular denim dress that sold out almost immediately after launching is finally back in stock, just in time for holiday season. Marks and Spencer’s denim round neck midi shift dress was an instant hit with shoppers when it dropped as part of their Spring campaign in April, and has been restocked, much to the delight of fashion fans.

Made from 100 per cent cotton in a sleeveless silhouette, it’s bound to keep wearers cool, making it a great pick for the warmer weather. Ideal for dressing up with statement accessories and heels or styling with sandals or trainers for a more relaxed, daytime vibe, shoppers have been heaping praise on it for its versatility and ‘flattering’ shape.

Coming in at £45, it features frayed detailing and an A-line style skirt, giving the garment a flattering, feminine silhouette. Available in sizes six to 24, customers can choose from regular, petite and long lengths, but some are already selling out due to the popularity of the piece.

The dress is cut with a shift shape and is secured with a zip fastener on the back. One of the most in-demand styles on the retailer’s site, Marks & Spencer fans have left more than 130 five-star reviews on the dress, with many praising it for being a ‘good wardrobe classic’.

One shopper reflected: “Lovely length for us tallies. So soft and skims the body hiding most of our unwanted extras!” Another added: “I love this flattering shape and excellent quality fabric. It can be worn as a casual dress or with careful choice of accessories could be dressed up for more special occasions. I will wear with a fitted linen jacket to maximise the flattering shape.”

A third said this dress was a ‘winner’ and pleaded with the brand for ‘more in this style’. They chimed: “This is just the best, I love denim dresses but not keen on frills waists and general fuss which seems popular these days. This is PERFECT, simple styling, less is more , great cut , great fit great fabric. A winner M&S. More in this style please.”

Echoing this, another fashion fan commented on how the dress looks and feels good and “pulls you in all the right places.” One issue some people have faced is the dress being slightly too long, with one adding: “Lovely dress, but far too long had to shorten it.”

As we transition into the warmer weather, denim dresses like this one from M&S are set to be a major trend. Some of our favourites from other retailers include this Alison Hammond-loved Phase Eight dress, which is £49 in the sale, while this Nobody’s Child Blue Denim Short Sleeve Finchley Shirt Dress is now reduced to £59.50 from £85.

Alternatively, this structured button through sleeveless denim dress from Mango, £50, is a similar style to the Marks and Spencer offering but has a collar and button fastening instead of a zip. For a collarless option, this Sandra midi dress from Nobody’s Child is made with light-wash denim and cinches you in at the waist, rather than having statement seams to flatter. Costing £65, the dress is available in sizes six to 18.
