The Loose Women star hosted Lorraine on Bank Holiday Monday in a stylish high street top that shoppers say is ‘not clingy’ and ‘versatile’
Christine Lampard looked very spring-ready in an affordable high street knit as she stepped in to present ITV ’s Lorraine earlier this week. Her Bank Holiday outfit had fans flooding her social media with heart-eye emojis, with M&S shoppers praising the ‘stylish and comfortable’ top that comes in under £20.
The Irish beauty, styled by Bronagh Webster, paired the high street retailer’s Ribbed Crew Neck Knitted Top with a green and orange knitted skirt, perfect for the transitional weather as we head into the warmer months. But you won’t have to break the bank to get Christine’s look, with her ‘versatile’ top coming in at just £17.50 – way cheaper than the likes of LK Bennett and their £103 Bea Red Short Sleeve Knitted Top.
The lightweight knit, which can be dressed up or down, comes in soft white, ecru, pink shell, navy, ice blue and onyx, as well as the orange as seen on the Loose Women anchor. And shoppers love it so much, they’ve ‘purchased all colours’.

The top comes in sizes extra small to extra large, and is said to be p erfect for wearing with trousers, skirts and jeans . It amassed a near perfect 4.7 star rating based on almost 100 reviews, with fans saying it’s ‘not clingy’ and a ‘great wardrobe staple’.
One said: “This is a really lovely top . Goes well with smart trousers or with jeans. It’s thicker than I thought it would be, more like a short sleeved jumper. Bought in Medium as I am a size16/18 and it fits well; nice and stretchy but not clingy. Will be a great wardrobe staple and I’m really pleased with my purchase.”
“Great fit. Very comfortable. Stylish. I love these tops and have now purchased all colours ,” said another, with a third commenting: “This is a really lovely top. Versatile, can be dressed up with trousers or skirts or down with jeans & shorts. Great wardrobe staple all year round.”
A fourth wrote: “Short sleeved jumper in navy … just what I needed to wear with wide leg side stripe trousers . Looks great under a jacket too . Very useful item . Fits well and stretchy but not clingy fabric.”
However due to the sizing being XS to XL rather than UK dress sizes like 6-18, some shoppers have struggled with finding the right size, with others saying they come up short on taller women. One said: “Really like these ribbed crew neck tops they are perfect for work. I have blue and pink. They wash well but they are a slim fit so try two sizes to check which looks better. I went for the 18 because I needed room to move.
“My only gripe is that, like with a lot of M&S tops it is quite short in the body, I am 5ft10 and it’s fine because I tuck it into my trousers or skirt but it’s too short to wear untucked and would ride up. Please can you make your tops and t shirts a bit longer in the body.”
The various colours of this top have all been styled differently on the models to share just how versatile they are, with the light pink and Christine’s orange version being perfect for pairing with blue denim, like jeans, shorts or a denim jacket.
The ice blue shade – one of the ‘colours of the season’ – could be paired with the retailer’s blue blazer and matching trousers for a smart and elevated monochrome look, with the navy pairing perfectly with the Jersey Side Stripe Wide Leg Trousers for £35, or Boden’s Westbourne Ponte Trousers , as seen on Susanna Reid.
Other new-in pieces we’re loving from the retailer include the Linen Rich Ruched Midaxi Bodycon Dress , which is a ‘sophisticated and elegant’ addition to your SS24 wardrobe for under £40, as well as this £35 Cotton Rich Striped Knitted Midi Dress which is back for 2024 in two brand new colours.
