The UK remains gripped by stores coming up with their own take on the viral Dubai-style chocolate, which continues making waves on TikTok. Now, Marks and Spencer has become involved in the trend.

Its huge block of chocolate had queues forming outside stores ahead of opening, according to M&S. From today (April 23), shoppers could get their hands on the revamped Big Daddy Chocolate Bar, described as “Dubai Chocolate bar but levelled up.”

Shoppers might remember the Big Daddy chocolate bar, which was released last year. It featured chunky chocolate with pieces of caramel and peanuts.

With ‘Dubai Chocolate’ being one of the current top trends for food and drink in the UK, followed closely by ‘pistachio’, it comes as no surprise that this inspired the latest offering at M&S Foodhalls.

Fans of a nutty delight could indulge in a tasty Pistachio Latte at the café or pick up a pot of the luxurious Pistachio Crème – ideal for spreading on sweet treats. Now, M&S has released the chocolate bar everyone wants to try in stores.

From today, the ultimate chunky chocolate bar is filled with gooey sea salted caramel, a sweet biscuit crumb and a thick layer of rich and nutty pistachio crème. You’ll also taste roasted pistachio pieces and white chocolate – making for the perfect indulgent treat for those sweet and salty cravings.

The 280g bar will set shoppers back £8.50 each. This makes it somewhat expensive compared to other versions available elsewhere – but still cheaper than importing the real deal over to the UK.

What is ‘Dubai Chocolate’?

The original “Dubai Chocolate Bar” is actually called “Can’t Get Knafeh Of It.” This was created by Fix Dessert Chocolatier based in Dubai, UAE.

Popularised on TikTok, this sweet treat is a blend of milk chocolate filled with a pistachio cream and crispy kataifi (shredded phyllo pastry) filling. It is said to be inspired by the Middle Eastern dessert knafeh, a traditional Arab dessert.

The trend has led to a huge demand as recreations take shape outside of the UAE. Some have been spotted on shop shelves, including Lindt, B&M, Home Bargains, Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons. People have even tried making their own homemade versions with the core ingredients.
