A mum-of-four was shot dead by her “obsessed” ex-boyfriend, who left her for dead in a shopping centre car park.

Savannah Kulla, 29, was horrifically found dead outside a shopping centre after her former partner Anthony Deschepper, 38, allegedly dumped her body there. The 38-year-old kidnapped Savannah and their one-year-old daughter, before the mum was found in Brampton, Ontario, in Canada, on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Cops quickly issued an alert but later found the baby safe with family members – who told cops Deschepper dropped the tot off with them. Police then launched a manhunt for Savannah’s ex partner.

Local police and Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit tracked the dad down to a petrol station in Niagara Falls, at around 2.30am on Wednesday morning, authorities said in a press release.

Deschepper was then fatally shot by an cop following “an interaction with the man and officers”. Paramedics rushed to the site but the 38-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is expected to be carried out today.

Police found a firearm at the scene but investigators did not find evidence that he opened fire. A woman, whose identity and relation to Deschepper has not been revealed, was found at the scene and arrested. This woman was allegedly driving the car that the dad had been in before he was caught.

Savannah’s heartbroken mum, Karen, said her daughter had recently broken up with her ex-partner. Karen, speaking to CityNews Everywhere, said: “[He was] so in love with her, that’s what blows my mind. Like crazy in love with her … to the point where he’s obsessed.

“She’s been telling me lately, I got to get away from him. She would go see him and say ‘this is over’ and that’s what she did on the weekend.”

The heartbroken mum said she has been a “mess” since her daughter’s tragic death. Karen said: “She was an overachiever. She loved those four kids more than anything.”

She confirmed that Savannah and Deschepper had a one-year-old together and her three boys are currently with their father, Savannah’s previous partner. Karen added: “I’m glad he’s gone and mainly because now her ex is very afraid of that those boys being around … when he got crazy.”

A GoFundMe page was set up by Savannah’s childhood friend following the tragedy. The fundraiser said: “She loved her babies with all her heart and spent every moment she could with them. Her world revolved around her children. Her face lit up whenever she talked about them, she was so proud of each of them.

“Savannah’s life was taken far too soon, and her children are now left without their mother’s warmth, laughter, and love. Our family is determined to make sure her babies are surrounded by care, stability, and the love she would have given them every single day.”
