A fitness guru who’s proudly shed 20lbs this year has dished out her top Aldi picks that have helped her slim down.

Muscle growth coach Hawys D, who dishes out diet and weight loss advice to her 44,100 Instagram fans at @coaching_in_hd, has been a hit with her latest reel.

She revealed her Aldi shopping secrets for trimming the pounds, starting the video outside the store with the caption: “Aldi protein bangers I buy to drop 20lbs this year.” She then divulged: “I lost 20lbs this year eating high-protein, high-nutrient and in a calorie deficit.”

First up on her Aldi food must-haves was a Moser Roth 70% cocoa dark chocolate bar. She enlightened her followers about its health properties by saying: “It’s actually full of antioxidant and great for snipping your sweet cravings.”

The fitness expert then chucked some chipotle chilli wraps into her basket, boasting they’re under 100 calories each. “They’re great for packing with salad and protein,” she explained.

The third item she raved about was The Fingermonger’s Tuna tins, opting for ‘Soy and Ginger’, ‘Chilli and Garlic’, and ‘Lemon and Thyme’ flavours. “They are the perfect single serve and come in here spice little flavours,” she enthused, adding that at just 99p, they’re a steal for your budget too.

Hawys then headed to the pre-made section, saying: “You know I love a pre-made salad. These Tandoori Chicken Buddha Bowl’s are a little over 300 calories and have a decent whack of protein.”

While perusing the meat section, the health enthusiast picked up some turkey mince, noting it has “slightly more nutrients than chicken”. She couldn’t resist adding chicken mince to her basket as well, enticed by the 30% discount, admitting she “couldn’t say no”.

But Hawys wasn’t finished with her meat selections just yet; she also tossed some lean pork sausages into her cart, each at just 71 calories, suggesting they’d be a “nice change for your weekend fry-up”.

In the fruit aisle, she opted for some “wonky strawberries”, praising their taste and pointing out they’re “only 100 calories per punnet”. Over in the veg section, she grabbed sweet potatoes, intending to whip up air fryer fries and highlighting them as an “excellent source of fibre and Vitamin A.”

She also threw in a packet of Turkish grains for an extra boost of “added protein and fibre”, but gave sugar-free jelly a miss, explaining it does “naff all to fill you up”. She passed on the protein pizza too, advising that a homemade version would be lower in calories and richer in protein.

Wrapping up her shopping trip, she cheerfully declared: “Now I set off with a skip in my step and a bag of certified bangers.”

Devotees of the influencer couldn’t get enough of her latest clip, with one enthusiast gushing: “This is actually super helpful to put into perspective when you have little meal prep time, especially the flavoured tuna! Tysm for this! ” Another echoed the sentiment, remarking: “Those tuna tins are amazing. I think there’s more than than 3 flavours too.”

A further follower praised her: “Great post,” as yet another added their curiosity: “Tell me more about the protein pizza! “.
