A young woman regularly stands out from the crowd because of her incredible 52.8 inch legs which make up most of her height – shopping is ‘almost impossible’ as she has always struggled to find clothing that fits right
Having super long legs sounds like the dream – who wouldn’t want to have legs like a supermodel? But, a 6’5 woman admits her long limbs have often set her back – and left her unable to find a wedding dress that fits correctly.
Miyuki Syiama regularly stands out from the crowd with her eye-catching stature. The 6ft 5ins woman, from Ohio in the US, has legs so long that they make up more than two thirds of her height.
However, shopping is “almost impossible” for Miyuki. Not only is she unable to find clothing that fits right, but people regularly come up to her and ask how tall she is.
Now, the bride-to-be faces her biggest clothing challenge yet – finding her wedding dress. Miyuki, who told Truly TV that she previously found it difficult to find love due to her height, has found that most dresses don’t reach past her ankles.
In response, the bridal boutique owner replied: “I would have to order a special length dress.” But Miyuki seems prepared to take this step, as she added: “I want to be confident and pretty.”
The bride, whose height has helped her excel in sports such as basketball and volleyball, says her parents are tall too – her dad is 6ft 7ins while her mum is around 6ft 3ins.
Speaking about more of the issues she faces, Miyjuki added: “I have a lot of problems with my height, I hit my head basically every single day… I was pretty shy about my height – everybody’s at normal height and I’m just like a mountain.”
She says people have called her “chop stick” or “giraffe”. “I hate it,” she added. “I am so close to the sky.”
Despite these setbacks, Miyuki is embracing her height more than ever now. She often resorts to making her own clothing – and has also launched her own website too.
The tall woman, who has been able to get modelling gigs thanks to her height, was pleased when she met her 6ft 3ins partner Trevor. “I think she is beautiful and I love everything about her,” he said.
The couple got married during the Covid-19 pandemic but now they are planning a big celebrations with their loved ones.
Miyuki admits that she may opt for a dress that is short in the front and long at the back to combat the dress length problem. She hopes speaking out about her story will inspire others.
She added: “I feel it [her height] is my gift. Don’t care what people think about you, just be yourself.”
