The new Dairy Milk ‘Share the Taste’ bars have hit shelves and they don’t just break into chunks – they divide the chocolate based on who ‘deserves’ each portion

Cadbury has unveiled a quirky new line of Dairy Milk chocolate bars that aims to solve the age-old squabble over who gets what share.

Far from your standard chocolate, these new bars are designed to dispense justice by divvying up chunks according to who truly “deserves” more.

The 12 relatable scenarios cover everyday contributions such as doing the cooking, keeping track of birthdays, or being the designated holiday planner.

For example, the “car journey” scenario is split between “who drove”, “who navigated” and “who slept”, with the driver snagging the bulk of the bar, while the snoozer gets a nibble.

It comes after a study of 2,000 adults by the chocolate brand found Brits perform an average of 11 helpful acts daily from holding doors open for strangers and doing the dishes, to cleaning up unseen messes and whipping up meals for others.

The research shows the caring nature of the UK population, with 80% of people saying they regularly engage in simple acts of kindness and 85% admitting they wouldn’t have it any other way.

For most, lending a hand is ingrained in their character (84%), and more than half say that helping out brings them joy (52%).

Indeed, recognising good deeds can have a significant impact. An impressive 95% of those surveyed said they appreciate even the smallest acts of kindness, from being served a cup of tea to receiving a pat on the back for a job well done.

While 17% believed that no one should expect a thanks for acts of kindness, 68% confessed they enjoy being thanked for what they’ve done. In fact, 65% stated that expressions of gratitude genuinely make them happy.

Interestingly, the study also discovered that while 25% of people sometimes forget to express their gratitude, 87% believe it’s never too late to show appreciation.

Connor Gould, spokesperson for Cadbury, commented: “We all know those unsung heroes who make our lives a little brighter the ones who book the flights, remember everyone’s birthdays, or simply do the weekly food shop.

“Our research has shown that sharing really is caring, and our new bars are a fun and delicious way to share a little appreciation with those generous people.

“Sometimes it really is just simple moments of gratitude, including sharing a chocolate bar, that matter the most to others and are the perfect way to show you care.”
