A newborn baby has tragically died after reportedly being “thrown 40ft from a window by the child’s five-year-old sister,” according to Russian authorities.
The horrifying incident occurred when the two young children were left alone at home by their mother while her husband was at work. A passersby reported hearing a young girl screaming from a fourth-floor window before spotting the lifeless infant on the ground below.

“A criminal case has been opened over the death of the infant,” confirmed the Russian Investigative Committee, which is now leading the inquiry. Officials have stated that the mother could face criminal charges, as investigators probe whether the five year old’s actions were motivated by “jealousy” over the arrival of the new baby.
They are also examining why the children were left unsupervised, reports the Mirror US.
“The actions of the parents who left the children unattended, as well as other possible scenarios, are being investigated,” officials said.
The District head of Zelenodolsk, Mikhail Afanasyev, stated: “Law enforcement officers are now investigating the situation. I express my condolences to the family of the deceased and urge all parents to be vigilant and never leave your children alone.”
